HostMonitor is a network monitoring and server monitoring software for administrators.
HostMonitor continuously monitors server availability and performance. It can be used to
monitor websites, TCP services, ping hosts, retrieve URLs, check disk space, and check the
integrity of files. Other functions include the ability to ping routers and network components,
trace route to a specified host, check UDP and TCP based services, send HTTP/S requests
and analyze results, check folder or file sizes, check if a folder or file exists, compare two
files or search for any text string, test connections to an SQL Server or ODBC database
source, check processes and CPU usage, or even perform custom checks by running a
separate exe module. Server monitoring intervals can be set by the user.
After HostMonitor checks network servers, it will take user defined actions if any device
does not respond. Depending on the users Alert configuration, it will write a log file entry,
provide a visual or sound warning, send an E-mail message or pager / mobile phone alert,
execute an external program, or send an ICQ message. The monitor can also stop, start,
or restart an NT service on a local or remote machine, reboot a local or remote computer,
send data to a specified host using TCP or UDP protocols, and/or change the test interval.
HostMonitor is compatible with Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.
